Zackary A. Knight
PSP Founder & CEO
Zack is currently an Infantry Lieutenant and platoon leader in the United States Army Georgia National Guard. His time spent in the Army has involved extensive training in risk assessment and mitigation techniques that have been proven in the most intense environments. Prior to joining the Army, Zack spent seven years serving as a police officer in the Smyrna community where he grew up. These years were spent receiving the best crime detection and prevention training law enforcement has to offer. Zack earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Penn Foster University. Zack is currently enrolled at American Military University, where he is completing a master’s program in business administration (MBA) with a concentration in security management. He is also a Physical Security Professional (PSP®), a credential that indicates he is an industry leader in physical security with a specialization in threat analysis.
Zack started Knight Protection Services as a direct result of his experience in law enforcement. “I responded to a burglary that occurred early in my career as a police officer,” he said. “I distinctly remember clearing the house, not finding the burglar, and seeing the house completely ransacked. The TV? Gone. The video games and laptop? Gone. Once the homeowners arrived, we found out a gun, thousands in cash, and irreplaceable heirloom jewelry were also all gone. As the wife was searching desperately for this jewelry, she burst into tears, feeling all the feelings of someone that was just completely violated. She asked me, begged me, to help her and never let this happen again. She asked desperately for a solution to this problem,” Zack recounted.
Unfortunately, as a police officer, Zack was unable to provide a solution. While the brave men and women in law enforcement are taught to investigate crimes and apprehend suspects, they simply aren’t tasked with providing recommendations for safety that would possibly help to prevent a crime before it happens. In fact, doing so could put them in danger of a lawsuit should the person they counseled become victimized again. Zack founded Knight Protection Services as a way to truly protect and serve, by providing solutions that deter crimes and prevent citizens from victimization.
